Nick (Nikos) Achilleopoulos, holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, and is currently the funding programmes and project development manager for the Hellenic Open University.
He has over 24 years of working experience, specialized in foresight of technologies, ICT system analysis & design, along with experience in bid preparation and international project management, including R&D projects. He chaired the “Future Internet of Personalized and creative media” workgroup of the User Centric Media Cluster of the EC Networked Media Unit. Editor of several White Paper and analysis documents for the European Commission and the European Parliament. His recent work for the European Parliament (STOA Unit) involves studies related to the “Collaborative Economy” which aims at assessing the use of Open/Big Data, Crowdsourcing, Crowdfunding, Virtual Currencies, Additive Manufacturing and Information Security. He is currently an active member of the European Commission Digital Skills and Job Coalition, representing HOU.
